Piercing Facts
Updated January 2025.

-
We only pierce with sterile equipment in our fully licensed studio
-
We use surgical grade Titanium jewellery in our fully licensed studio
-
We use surgical grade titanium jewellery to pierce with which is sterilised on site
-
Your piercing will be done using a single use cannula needle which is medical and used in hospitals. We do not USE piercing guns!
-
Our staff use nitrile gloves which are latex and powder free to eliminate out any allergies
-
We will not pierce with a hoop and hoops continually move and this can stop the natural scar tissue from forming. This therefore leaves a higher risk of infections due to the open wound not healing. With exceptions of nose piercings due to these having a stopper.

What to expect

When getting any piercing(s), redness and swelling is always an expected reaction and is absolutely normal.

-
In some circumstances the area can become tender with some small bleeding.
-
A yellow crusty discharge is another natural part of the healing process that may occur
-
When cleaning with salt water solution, this can leave a white crusty residue which is just excess salt sitting on the skin.

Please avoid sleeping on the side of any new piercing, this will cause some discomfort and we advise to try and avoid this as much as possible.

Potential Problems

Piercings are not a natural process for the body and therefore without proper care your body will always try to reject, discard and sometimes push out the bar, resulting in excess swelling.

-
If you experience excess swelling please pop back into the studio, as we may need to change the piercing bar to a longer length bar. This will allow for any additional swelling.
-
We do try and tighten piercing balls as tight as possible. Balls can become loose when cleaning. If the ball becomes loose or falls off, please come back into the studio for us to replace. Keep the bar in and put a plaster over to help keep it in place.
-
If you are ever concerned about your piercing then our team are on hand to help with advice. Do not hesitate to contact us or pop back into the studio at any point.

No question is a silly question, everybodies healing process will be different and we are here to help.

YOUR PIERCER WILL EXPLAIN THE RECOMMENDED CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS AFTER YORU PIERCING AND YOU WILL BE GIVEN AN AFTERCARE LEAFLET FOR YOU TO TAKE AWAY WITH YOU.
